We are having a great year this year at Newman Grove. We have the privilege to have Mr. Krause back as our advisor. We currently have 49 members in FFA (high school & Jr. High). This semester is pretty full of activities and events.
Back in September, a group of FFA members attended Husker Harvest Days. This group was very intrigued by the variety of Ag-related products and services available all in one location. Later this fall the Newman Grove FFA Chapter will be holding their 2nd Annual Jr. High Lock-In. This event will be held on the evening of November 7th where Jr. High students will enjoy fun, games, movies, and skits all put on by the High School FFA members.
Through November we will also be knocking on doors taking orders for fruit baskets, pizzas, and assorted snack foods, in our annual Fruit & Food Fundraiser. Also in November will be District LSE contests at Leigh. We currently have members preparing for Ag Demo, Creed Speaking, Jr High Quizbowl, and Parliamentary Procedure.
A local contest will be held where parents and friends can come get a taste of these Leadership Skills Events before we compete.
A new fundraiser item that is being brought back is the inner tube recycling. We are currently lining up a “drop zone” for inner tubes, but if you are looking for a place to go with them feel free to contact Mr. Krause @ 402-447-6294 and arrangements will be made.
